Fire Away!

Year 7 students had an inspirational insight into working for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service today, with a Year group careers assembly from Caroline Anderson, who has a wealth of experience working in the Fire Service for the last 20 years.

Caroline spoke to students about the wide range of work that the Fire Service currently covers, including...

Property, Agricultural and Moorland Fires

Maritime Incidents

Traffic Collisions

Animal and Person Rescue

Supporting other frontline services,
such as the Police and Paramedic Services.

Regular training and high levels of fitness, is of particular importance in this type of career, as well as being a team player.

Following this, Caroline then gave a presentation to students on our Uniform Protective Services course.

A big thank you to Caroline for inspiring our students!
