…putting in a great performance and securing the Gold Medal position.

If that wasn’t enough, Isla then took part in a team competition with members from her Plymouth Gymnastics club, and contributed to a superb Silver Medal for them as well.

Congratulations to Isla.

Meanwhile, Year 10 swimmer Ethan (pictured) has been putting in the miles recently (or should we say knots?) and we are delighted to learn that his hard work and effort has paid off, resulting in him receiving an award for Top Plymouth Swimmer for his age category.

Over on the Badminton court, the College were out in force and had an exciting day of competition.

Well done to our Girls Team who secured Second Place in their competition, whilst our Boys A Team won theirs, qualifying them for the Devon finals.

We wish them all the best as they progress to the next stages.

--------

Meanwhile, over on the Netball courts, our Girls Teams have been taking a few trips to Exeter with our Year 11 Team taking part in a match against a College in the area.

The Senior Elite Team have also participated in a tournament at the University, qualifying for the Semi – Finals, whilst the following week, our Year 11 Team came so very close to a top three position, finishing their competition in a very respectable fourth place.

--------

As usual, there was lots of activity in our Rugby department with our Year 7 and Year 8 Elite Rugby Teams taking on a College from Cornwall.

Our commiserations to our Year 10 Elite Team who couldn’t quite get past a team from a College from Plymouth, but we thank them for representing the College and for their effort, as well as congratulate our Plymouth opponents on their 33-48 victory.

However, all was not lost and our Senior Elite Rugby Team recorded a comprehensive WIN when they took on a team from a College in Cornwall, finishing the contest with a fulltime score of 61 points to 10.

--------

And finally, it was a busy fortnight for Football with a variety of results and fixtures.

It was wonderful to see 124 of our female footballers take part in an FA Girls Football Festival.

We would also like to thank and were delighted to welcome Plymouth Argyle for an afternoon of football training as part of the FA Primary Football Festival.

It was great to be joined by six primary schools, with approximately 100 primary school pupils in attendance.

Meanwhile, in competition, our Year 7 Boys Teams participated in some development games against teams from another College within the South Hams district.

Both teams were runners up in one match, but victors in the other and we would like to thank them for playing “with great spirit” and “at a high standard”, as well as congratulate our opponents on the matches they won.

Meanwhile, our Year 7 Girls Team took on a Team from a school in Teignbridge, losing one of their matches by five goals to one, but tying the other by 2 goals each.

Our thanks to the Team for representing the College with pride and valiance, as well as our congratulations to our opponents for their victory.

Following in the footsteps of the Year 7 Boys, our Year 8 Boys and Girls Teams also recorded some promising results against a College in the South Hams district.

Our Year 8 Girls were involved in a close contest, but won their match by two goals to one.

Meanwhile, our Year 8B Elite Team also had a good day, winning their match by a fantastic five goals to one.

The College would like to congratulate all our teams on their victories and thank all our players for their commitment and enthusiasm.

Once again, our sports students have delivered some interesting and notable achievements and we cannot wait to report some more superb sporting news soon.
