Running on ahead,
Maiden Wins
and Major Match Victories

This recent period has seen some more amazing moments for our sports students, including a sporting first, some big match wins as well as representation for wider, local organisations and sports clubs.

--------

We start off on the running field where Year 11 student Luke (pictured) took part in the Devon Cross Country Championships, finishing in a fantastic fourth place for his age category.

He wasn’t the only one who was running for the hills as we would also like to congratulate Year 7 student Dougal, who also participated and finished in the Silver Medal Position for his category.

They are both due to be taking part in the subsequent South West event next weekend and we wish them all the very best with their running endeavours.

--------

Meanwhile, our Year 11 Netball Team are also celebrating following their comprehensive 56 - 28 point victory over their Torbay opponents.

This terrific triumph, now puts the team through to the Quarter Finals of this specific competition and we wish them well going forward.

--------

Meanwhile, from one team securing a place in the Quarter Finals to another who have won theirs!

Well done to our Senior Elite Football Team on their victory over their mid-devon opponents.

Three was definitely the magic number for the group, winning by three goals to one, and securing their place in the semi-finals.

--------

And last but not least, there are also some big stories from our Rugby Teams, including that of our Under 18 Girls Team who recorded their first ever victory, having taken on a team from Cornwall.

A very well done to the girls and “Roslyn Park, here we come!”

Meanwhile, our Girls Development and Elite Teams got some valuable match experience in, recently, with matches against teams from a school in Somerset.

We would also like to acknowledge our Year 9 Elite Rugby Team who were victorious in their match against a team from an Independent School in Maidenhead with a two-score win of 22 – 12.

However, some of our students have gone the extra step and were successfully selected for clubs outside of the College environment.

These include Year 13 student Savannah (pictured), who made the team sheet, representing Devon for the Under 18 Girls.

The team had a great match, with Savannah even scoring a try and winning the contest by a comprehensive score of 39 points to 14.

And finally, we would also like to congratulate Rugby students (pictured)...

The year may be young, but the College is thrilled with some of the major sports results and achievements of our students and looking forward to reporting more amazing stories soon.
