Sports Report 14/03/2025 and 21/03/2025

We are the (Multiple) Champions!
It’s been a colossal time for our sports results with students of a range of ages picking up trophy wins and medals as well as progressing to the later stages of notable competitions.
--------
We start off in the Netball courts where our Under 16 Elite Netball Team have made the final four of their national competition.
We wish them well as they prepare for their Semi Final!
They’re not the only ones winning.
Our young netballers in Year 7, still in the early days of their College competition journey, played a series of friendlies against a school in the City of Plymouth.
The girls had a great day, winning all four matches.
Stars of the future, we hope so!
--------
Meanwhile, out on the running field, Year 7 student Dougal travelled to Newquay to participate in a South West Schools Crosscountry Race.
Dougal put in the steps and took home a brilliant bronze medal for himself, but also won a superb silver representing Devon in the Team race.
--------
Meanwhile our new female footballers have also been showing some promise.
The Under 13 Girls Football Teams took on some Somerset opponents and we would like to give a special mention to our Under 12 Team who drew their match by two goals each.
Meanwhile, our Year 7 - 9 girls were celebrating female football by taking part in the Biggest Ever Football session on 7 March.
Our Year 7 Girls Football Teams were, in addition, taking on each other and matching their peers with a 2-2 score line.
This particular match however, was also led by our student Go Lead Activators following their first training session on officiating, and we would like to say well done to them on their efforts and progress.
Meanwhile, some of our Year 7 and 9 girls were also leading a Primary Football Event as Football Association Young Leaders.
Well done all!
And finally, our Year 7 and 8 Girls A and B Teams played in some Devon County Qualifiers.
Our Congratulations to Team A who won and have now qualified for a Devon Finals competition.
--------
And last but not least, we have some huge stories regarding past and present students on the Rugby field.
We would like to start by congratulating former student Ellie (pictured), who has been selected to take part in the current Under 18 Scotland Rugby Extended Training Squad.
Meanwhile, we would also like to congratulate former student and rugby coach Maddison (pictured), who has been invited to an Italy Rugby Under 18 camp.
But the achievements didn’t stop there – Well done to our Under 15 Elite Rugby Team who defeated their North Devon opponents to take home a prize (The Devon Plate) for their category.
This was matched by the Under 14 Boys Rugby Team who won their Devon Plate by being victorious over their Exeter opponents.
Meanwhile, our Senior Elite Rugby Team spent some time participating in some Devon 7s matches.
Our Under 13 Elite Team (pictured) had an amazing competition when they took part in a Rugby 7s tournament, winning all their games and becoming Devon Rugby 7s Champions.
Some of our girls matched this when they took part in the Millfield 7s Tournament.
The College sent four teams to the event and once again, came away with a tournament win, thanks to the work of our Under 14 Girls Team, who again, won all their games and the title.
However, the girls were also keeping pace in the 15s format and we would like to congratulate both our Under 14 and our Under 16 Girls Rugby Teams for winning their tournaments and both becoming West of England Champions.
--------
An incredible period of competition, with the College recording many wins (even tournament titles).
We are sure our students will record more medals and victories in the future and cannot wait to report on them further!
