Recycle and Raise
The students and staff from Ivybridge Community College have again this year, taken part in the Recycle and Raise scheme organised by DCW Polymers, raising money for Dartmoor Zoo and the Life Chance Trust.
The College has collected around 141 chocolate tubs from staff and students and their families, together with the other items that are able to be recycled including ice cream tubs, cracker tubs and takeaway containers.
As part of a scheme that has been running since 2019, the tubs which the College have donated were sent to DCW’s processing centre in Exeter, where they will be used in conjunction with other recovered material to manufacture recycled furniture.
One hundred percent of the money raised from the sale of this furniture will be donated to Dartmoor Zoo and the Life Chance Trust, helping towards wildlife and environmental conservation as well as providing mentoring, life skills and financial support to young people.
A big thank you to Mrs Parsons for organising this.
