For one day only, Ivybridge Community College became a School of Wizardry, as students were encouraged to get creative and participate in the library’s Harry Potter Day.
There were many activities inspired by the fictional character that challenged both the students’ creativity and problem-solving skills.
These included a magically themed creative writing competition, as well as a treasure hunt style Golden Galleon competition, where participants were challenged to hunt down over a dozen small galleon pictures which had been hidden across the College site.
Budding artists at the College were also challenged to create a piece of creative artwork which illustrated a magical scene.
Meanwhile, staff and students were getting into character with some enchanting fancy dress costumes, whilst there were also activities and craft clubs in the Library throughout the day.
A huge congratulations to Lucy in Year 7 (Bottom Left, Top Picture) as the winner of the creative writing competition, whilst Annabelle (also Year 7) (Top Left, Middle Picture) successfully cracked the Golden Galleon competition and was the first name out of the hat in the prize draw.
Finally, a warm congratulations must also go to Amelia from Year 7 (Top Left and Right, Top Picture, and Bottom Picture) for her atmospheric piece, making her the winner of the Art Competition.
The College would like to say a huge ‘Well done’ to all our keen reading enthusiasts for their efforts!
