Language students recently had a taste of Spain following an exciting workshop.

Students got a flavour for the country and its culture, with an opportunity to sample a flamboyant Flamenco workshop as well as the chance to enjoy some tasty tapas.

Our thanks to all those who participated, and had the chance to join in with some lively, expressive moves as well as have a go using some traditional castanet instruments.

With all that excitement, it was easy to work up quite an appetite, however, food was on hand as well, in the shape of some tasty Spanish cuisine, including...

Chicken and Rice

Potato

Spanish Omelette

...dishes and snacks.

--------

This event follows another presentation (organised by the Languages Department and Westcountry Schools Trust) featuring David Binns (UK Director of Operations for Language and Technology support Company Sanako) who gave an upbeat and witty talk to Year 9 students on the benefits of learning another language.

Mr Binns recounted a humorous story from his past as well as gave some real life examples of how second language skills can open up opportunities both in someone’s social life as well as in their Career.

--------

We would like to thank everyone involved in the organising of these opportunities as well as to those students who took part.
