Ivybridge Community College

Dance and Performing Arts Success for Students

With the return of performances to the dance stages of the UK, the sense of excitement is building within the Ivybridge Community College Performing Arts Department, so it is with great delight that we are able to wave our Year 13 cohort of dancers off to flourish in the Dance and Performing Arts world!

This year, several students from our A Level Class of 2021 have been successful in auditioning for places at numerous prestigious Dance and Performing Arts training establishments around the UK.

Congratulations to Theo Marasescu who has secured a place at the world-renowned London Contemporary Dance School, also to Faith Ball and Caitlin Barnes who both secured places at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Dance, one of the largest BA Contemporary Dance programmes in the country.  Finally a big well done to Storm Orchard who gained her dream spot at Bird College to continue her family legacy in the musical theatre world.

“In any normal year, being offered a place at these establishments is a monumental achievement, however it is particularly impressive this year as the students have navigated the restriction of time in a dance studio and the new world of virtual auditioning.  We wish all of our Year 13 students the best of luck in their future endeavours.  We are proud of you all.”  Hannah Mattinson, PE and Dance Teacher.
