On Wednesday, 18 November they were both selected to play for Exeter City in the U16 EFL Floodlit National Cup Final.  The pair travelled to Cirencester where they played against Crewe Alexandra, with Exeter City winning the match 7-3.

Andrew, who began the game in goal, and Sam, who was playing a year above his actual age group, are both members of the College’s Football Academy.   Mr Leonard, who has worked with them both since they were in Year 7, said that it was, “an amazing achievement, which they should be extremely proud of.  Both players had good games and made a good account of what they’re capable of.”  Andrew, who recently narrowly missed out on the national title with the College’s U15 Boys’ Team, described the whole experience as “amazing” and Sam, who played a year up, was “delighted” with the victory.

“This is another fantastic sporting achievement for two of our Ivybridge students.  Congratulations to Sam and Andrew and it is great to hear how rewarding they found the experience.  I am sure they will go on to many further footballing successes.”  Kelly Olive, Deputy Principal.
