Ofsted OUTSTANDING grade for our Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Provider Exeter University
Our Initial Teacher Training Partner has been deemed 'Outstanding' once again. We are delighted to celebrate this news and continue to promote 'outstanding' through all our School Direct programmes.
Ivybridge Community College is the lead school for Teach South West within the South West Teaching School Alliance (SWTSA). Exeter University provide the pedagogy lectures for the PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) whilst we provide the teaching practice through placements either in local schools and/or within our Teaching School Alliance.
As quoted from this recent Ofsted report; “The University’s long-established model addresses local, regional and national priorities exceptionally well. Leaders articulate a very strong vision for initial teacher training. Leaders and managers at all levels understand exactly the role they want the university partnership to play in the wider education system. Training routes and strong relationships with teaching school alliances, schools and other agencies are forged to meet this vision. All partners are very proud to be involved with Exeter.
The partnership produces large numbers of consistently good, and many outstanding, teachers, who significantly enhance the quality of education for pupils in the region and nationally. “
Teach South West is very proud to work with Exeter University on our continued journey to recruit and train teachers to become outstanding practionners in the South West.
