Owl Pellet Dissection
Students from Year 7 and 8 came along for a lunchtime session to dissect some owl pellets.
These are regurgitated pellets which contain remains such as the fur and bones of whatever the owl has been eating which it cannot digest.
Students were engrossed in their dissections and managed to find and identify many vole skulls and other vole bones. We also found some shrew skulls.
Thank you to the Barn Owl Trust for providing us with owl pellets.
