Running, Rugby Coaching and Taking on a Challenge

The past fortnight has seen students take on a variety of challenges (some for charity) as well as achieving some more very notable results in their individual fields.

--------

We would firstly like to wish Year 11 student Jas (pictured top right), all the very best of luck as she embarks on a challenge to run 100k over the month of May (over 60 miles or more than two marathons) in aid of Devon Youth Services.

On her Crowdfunder page, Jas said: This May I’m taking on a personal challenge to run 100 kilometre(s) as a way to both honour the memory of friends I’ve lost to mental health and struggles and to raise awareness of the mental health issues affecting young people.

“I have chosen to support young Devon, an organisation that is dedicated to supporting the mental health of youth in our community.”

The very best of luck to Jas as she takes on this challenge.

Meanwhile, we would also like to congratulate our Elite Dance Squad who recently took a trip to Bath to participate in a National Schools Competition.

We would like to congratulate the team following their Silver Medal finish in their regional heat of the Big Dance Off Challenge and we look forward to seeing them perform again, across their various activities very soon.

--------

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Eliza (pictured, top left) has taken a shorter trip to Widdicombe in order to take part in an opening Tetrathlon and Triathlon of the season.

Eliza and her young pony had a great event, contributing to a Top Ten finish for her team, a lucky seventh place in the Triathlon as well as a Bronze Medal finish in the Tetrathlon.

A tetrathlon is a multi-sport event featuring Swimming, Shooting, Running and Riding, and the Triathlon equivalent, in this case, involves Swimming, Shooting and Running.

A huge congratulations to Eliza and we wish her well for the upcoming season.

--------

In other news, we were also delighted to welcome Wayne (pictured, bottom right) and Tim (pictured, bottom left) from England Rugby who gave some of our top Rugby students a course in Rugby Coaching, giving them the skills to pass on their knowledge to budding rugby stars.

The group engaged well and were complimented by Wayne for their respectful behaviour.

We would like to thank Wayne and Tim for delivering the session.

'From Apprentice to Master' report.

Meanwhile, we would like to also thank our female rugby teams who took part in the Love Rugby event in Topsham.

--------

And finally, we would like to congratulate all those who took part in the Ten Tors event over a rather sunny and warm weekend, and we hope that you all had a good time and a great experience.

--------

Our congratulations to all our sports students on their challenges and achievements and we look forward to reporting on more of these in the near future.
